Lee Shaw, principal designer at Lee Shaw Architecture, LLC, has over 30 years of experience creating beautiful buildings and spaces for people to enjoy and thrive in.

​Upon graduating from Texas A&M University in 1986, after a semester abroad in Florence, Italy, Lee worked for internationally acclaimed interior designer Juan Pablo Molyneux in New York. He was lead designer and project manager on the design of high-end residential projects around the world including the renovation of an Addison Mizner designed villa in Palm Beach, a palace in Buenos Aires and a townhouse in New York City.

 

From there he worked briefly as an assistant project manager on the lobby renovation of the Century Paramount Hotel in Times Square, designed by Philippe Starck, and then moved to western Connecticut and worked on Historic Landmark projects for the talented firm of Halper Owens Architects, including North Salem, New York's "Delancy Hall" on the National Register of Historic Places and the restoration and adaptive re-use of Sprain Brook Sawmill, a working historic sawmill on the Connecticut Register.

 

He moved to New Mexico where he was a designer and project manager for Studio Arquitectura in Santa Fe and worked on projects including Loongbar, a restaurant for celebrity chef Mark Miller in San Francisco, Carol Burnett's home in Santa Fe and the renovation of Packard's On The Plaza, which won a Preservation Award from the City of Santa Fe.

 

​Lee and Rick Ansaldi formed Ansaldi Shaw Design in 1998. Together they have designed historically inspired contemporary haciendas using traditional and modern building methods and commercial projects including:

  • Rio Nuevo Transit Center (Tucson)

  • Anjali Day Spa + Wellness Center (Tucson)

  • Modern restaurant concepts for Flying Star Cafe + Satellite Coffee (Albuquerque)

 

Lee also works as a consultant for Plan A Architecture in Santa Fe working on a variety of projects including:

  • Contemporary Barn-Style Gym in Calabasas, CA

  • Spanish Eclectic Residence in Kansas City

  • Spa at The Inn of Five Graces in Santa Fe

  • Barn/Guest House in Chama, NM

  • Cube Restaurant in Albuquerque

  • Carriage House for an automobile collector in Santa Fe

  • Rasmussen Optical in Santa Fe

Lee also works as a consultant at Kelly Architects in Los Angeles on restaurant + bar as well as residential projects.

 

​On all projects Lee is a vital member of the design team and plays lead roles in production and project management.

Benjamin Vogel, principal architect at Lee Shaw Architecture, LLC, has 35 years of experience in the architectural and construction field.  He has had direct involvement in all aspects of architectural practice from project programming and schematic design through construction documents to contract administration and building construction. 

In addition to his architectural license, Benjamin holds a building contractor’s license and brings that practical perspective to the firm.  This allows him to utilize his diverse experience when considering building design systems and materials that are cost effective and efficient while still accomplishing the design objective.

 

​Benjamin will collaborate on all projects and will be involved in all phases of the project.

Benjamin firmly believes that it is important to maintain a strong and consistent relationship with the client throughout the design and documentation process all the way through the construction of the project.  Benjamin’s role is to support Lee with his experience and knowledge.  He is committed to collaboration and the success of the project.
